Welcome to MICRO 2026

For the 6th Edition of the International Conference MICRO 2026,
we will be together in person for five intense days, this time in Cádiz, Spain.

Time to save the dates: 12–16 October 2026!

It has been over 10 years since we launched the MICRO international conference series, and the MICRO Community continues growing in ever widening circles.

The aim of MICRO 2026 is to celebrate this community of researchers concerned with the challenge of Plastic Pollution from macro to nano, with a core focus on microplastics, as a means to:

    (i) Facilitate open access to the breadth of emerging & ongoing plastic pollution research;
    (ii) Identify current research frontiers, evidence needs, and new challenges; &
    (iii) Contribute a collaborative effort to our vibrant community.

Senior Career: Researchers in permanent positions, such as associate or full professors, or research directors.

Mid Career: Postdoctoral researchers, faculty or researchers in non-permanent positions (e.g., assistant professors, lecturers).

Early Career: Bachelor and Master students, PhD students/candidates or equivalent doctoral researchers.

Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC): All participants from Low- and Middle-Income Countries qualify for the reduced fee irrespective their career stage.

Note 1 - We trust you to select the registration fee matching your career stage and do not require proof of your status. Please note: your status will be visible on your conference badge.
Note 2 - Registration fees include tax. There will be an additional 4% service fee when you pay your registration.

Note 3 - If you want to support MICRO, feel free to pick a higher fee for your registration.

* Given our move to a new location, we are charging a modest registration fee to cover operational expenses.
